Kill Roaches and Ants Effectively

Are roaches and ants a problem in your home? Not any more with this old time bait remedy. Discovering Roaches especially, in our homes is one of the most horrifying things we can discover or experience for some reason. They are only insects but some people become filled with fear if they come into our homes. Yes you can go out and buy expensive chemicals but  the old timer’s had a much cheaper and frankly far more effective method of dealing with the insects and there is no nasty chemical residue left behind to cause harm to our children, our pets or us for that matter.

This is an old remedy that people have been using for decades and only uses three ingredients all of which are readily available at any supermarket or grocery store. It uses a mixture of white flour, boric acid, and icing sugar.

This works by the roaches or ants ingesting the mixture, which in turn dries them out and they die. They just think they have arrived in the desert. It is not as fast acting as a chemical spray is but it is safer for us by not using nasty chemicals.

It is recommended to replace the baits monthly so that the baits remain fresh and effective. If you have a particularly heavily infestation of roaches or ants then you might want to change the baits more regularly, say every two weeks. Once you stop seeing the little darlings for a while then you can stop laying the baits.

To make the baits simply mix equal quantities of boric acid and flour. Then add some icing sugar to sweeten the bait and to attract the roaches.

Mix the ingredients to a soft dough, by adding just enough water to hold it all together enough to be able to hold its shape when formed. Roll the dough into small balls about twice the size of a pea (1 cm or ½ and inch in size), and place these singularly into one of those small chocolate or confectionary paper cups or Bonbon cups that you have kept from those special Christmas treats. They make excellent bait trap holders. And don’t worry, the ants will get to the bait with no problems at all.

Place these bait cups in the back corners of cupboards and behind the stove, dishwasher and fridge etc. where they are out of the reach of your pets.

Happy bug free living from now on.
