9 Foods That Will Keep You Trim
An Apple a Day Keeps The Doctor Away!
We have all heard the saying, “we are what we eat”. This is
so very, very true.
Just as people that are extremely thin have poor immune
systems, so it can be for us more portly folks and we can have severely reduced immune systems.
This is really dangerous for us, and leaves us all open to all
manner of illnesses that normally our bodies, were they in optimum health, be
able to fight off easily.
Worldwide the increase in diabetes and heart disease is
through the roof compared to 50 years ago.
Yes fast foods have contributed to this increase but it we
did not consume those foods then many would not be suffering today from overweight.
Many people do have medical conditions that increase weight gains, but for the
most part it is our own fault that we are overweight. We are the ones that
literally stuff the wrong foods into our bodies. We consciously make the choose
to eat the hamburger for example.
I am yet to see hamburgers flying out of fast foods outlets
and ramming themselves down our throats. Admittedly it might be a funny sight to
see just once, but the reality is, that we choose to eat those garbage foods.
Continually blaming the fast food industry for our greed is really a cop out.
We need to take back control of what we eat, it really is
that simple.
For many people keeping trim can be a mammoth task. Many
have tried numerous diets only to find that they either don't work at all and
just another hyped up piece of garbage that ended up making someone very rich
out of it, or they are so restrictive that people simply just give up trying.
Many are now discovering finally, that a balance of eating
good wholesome "pure" foods and a balanced exercise plan has far
better results and people are able to not only lose the weight but also keep
their weight in check.
I came across this article this morning that lists 9 foods
that will keep us trim. It is not a diet plan but simply foods that are good
for keeping our weight in check.
These are foods that are easily obtainable at any store , or
for many, that we can make or grow ourselves, and we don't have to mortgage the
house to pay for a diet plan that in reality, just does not work for the
majority of people.
As with anything always research these things before you dive
head first into them. More often than not if something looks too good to be
true then it is usually a crock and a total waste of your money.
Gaining weight is always a slow process. We never go to bed
thin one night and hey presto, the next morning when we wake up we gained 10
pounds or whatever. Just as it takes
time to gain the weight it also takes time to lose it.
I am sorry to say this, but there are no instant remedies or
quick fixes for this ever increasing problem. We gradually did this to
ourselves and we now have to work hard to gradually get rid of the fats we have
accumulated.
Recognising the problem is the first step. Banning all
garbage from our bodies is the second. Then comes choosing to eat only pure
healthy foods, fighting temptation to revert to our old ways and plenty of
fresh air and exercise. No! Sitting on
the sofa or couch all day watching TV and eating Mc Donald’s will not do it I
am afraid.
Making our weight loss fun is most beneficial and will
ensure that we stay on the target that we set for ourselves. When we do this we
have a much higher chance of sticking to our weight lose program and succeeding.
Avocados are so good!
We must make a conscious effort to change our own bad habits
if we truly want to be successful in losing weight.
I gained a lot of weight when I was confined to a wheelchair
for 4 years after falling through a roof, hitting a step ladder on the way down
and shattering 5 discs in my lower spine and fracturing several vertebrae.
Because I could not get up and exercise, the weight came a
calling in pounds and pounds and is something that I really struggled with for
a very long time. It has been 10 years now since I defied all the specialists
and was able to walk again, but I still today battle the weight issues. I have
lost 6 dress sizes and still want to lose about 2 more dress sizes to get to
what I regard as a healthy weight.
Being as thin as a twig is no healthier than being overweight,
and for this reason we need to be realistic when we lose weight. Loosing too
much too quickly can be as problematic if not more so in some cases as not
losing the weight at all.
As with all things in life, it is far better to approach our
weight loss in moderation. If we expect to lose weight overnight, then we are
just setting ourselves up to failure before we even begin.
Hopefully this article below will help some of you that like
me, struggle with this increased weight problem.
